Apostle David and Pastor Karen Jennings Address Relationship Claims After Marriage Breakdown
A Jamaican apostle and female pastor have confirmed they are in a relationship, while rejecting social media claims that framed their bond as a secret affair during his marriage. In a recorded interview, Apostle David said his marriage, which began in 2023, deteriorated soon after, while Apostle Karen Jennings said she became involved after trying to help him through the conflict.
David said he lived in May Pen before moving to Old Harbour, while his wife was overseas. He described the marriage as controlling and abusive, alleging that he had to show receipts after visiting Western Union and video-call from the supermarket to prove what he bought. He said a divorce document was prepared in 2023, but he did not sign it because his name was spelled incorrectly.
He said he first encountered Jennings' church through TikTok in 2024 and later visited after she invited him to preach. According to David, Jennings initially counselled both him and his wife. He said he later stayed with Jennings for about a year after being asked to leave the house where he had been living, and that he eventually developed feelings for her because she supported his ministry.
Jennings said she and David's wife were once on speaking terms and that she encouraged David to give the marriage another chance. She said she bought him a ticket to travel to the United States, where he later had difficulties with his wife. After he returned to Jamaica, she said online accusations intensified.
Jennings said a recent live broadcast was clipped and circulated in a way that misrepresented her words. She said her point was that David was not sleeping with women in the church, adding that if he were involved with anyone, it would be her. She also said anonymous messages and social media commentary accused her of breaking up the marriage.
The pair said they are now together. When asked whether the relationship was sexual, Jennings answered, "After marriage," and said they intend to marry once the divorce papers are signed.
