Teen girls held after Morant Bay villa stabbing leaves 64-year-old badly injured

A 64-year-old man is receiving treatment in hospital after what was meant to be a private late-night meeting with two underage girls at a Morant Bay villa ended in a stabbing and robbery in the early hours of July.

Law enforcement officials have arrested two female suspects, aged 15 and 14, in relation to the case. They are being held on suspicion of attempted murder, conspiracy to murder and simple larceny while detectives carry out further enquiries.

The complainant is said to have set up a sexual encounter with the teenagers at the St Thomas property. He reportedly collected them on the previous night and took them to the villa, where he secured a rented room.

Investigators understand the girls had beforehand gathered duct tape, knives, tarpaulin and additional supplies they allegedly intended to use during the attack. According to police, violence broke out soon after the meeting began inside the room.

The suspects are accused of launching a knife assault on the man, wounding him several times across his face, neck and back. Bloodied and injured, the victim managed to escape the room and call out for help.

While he fled, the pair allegedly entered his Daihatsu motor vehicle and left the area at speed. Officers who responded to the scene found the man with multiple stab wounds and transported him to Princess Margaret Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.

Police captured both teenagers later the same day at the Morant Bay Urban Centre. The force confirmed that its investigation remains active, with attention also on the reported sexual involvement of the two minors in events leading up to the assault.
