ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — A man identified by police as a member of a major criminal network was fatally shot during an alleged confrontation with law enforcement officers in Knoxwood near Burnt Savannah, St. Elizabeth, on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Reon Osbourne, otherwise known as “Bughead.”
According to preliminary police reports, at about 5:15 a.m., officers were conducting a targeted operation in search of Osbourne when he allegedly confronted them with a firearm.
Police said Osbourne was shot during the incident and transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators reported that a .38 revolver was recovered at the scene.
Law enforcement officials also stated that Osbourne was a member of a major criminal network and was reportedly hiding out in St. Elizabeth at the time of the operation.
The incident remains under investigation by the police.
