Gov’t to Announce JAMRROC Members Soon

The Government will soon announce the members of the Jamaica Reconstruction and Resilience Oversight Committee (JAMRROC).

The Committee will oversee the work of the National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority (NaRRA), which has been mandated to coordinate post disaster reconstruction and drive long term resilience building efforts.

In March, it was announced that JAMRROC will be chaired by Senior Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, Professor Peter Blair Henry.

Addressing Wednesday’s (May 27) Post-Cabinet Press Briefing at Jamaica House, Prime Minister, Dr. the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, announced that the Committee’s terms of reference will also be made public.

“We are all aligned now and we are ready to go. June 1 will be the effective start date of operations for NaRRA,” Dr. Holness said.

Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Major General (Ret’d) Antony Anderson, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NaRRA, effective June 1.

Meanwhile, Dr. Holness noted that Cabinet has reviewed the initial set of projects to be included in NaRRA’s register.

“We have finalised a shortlist. They will be compiled and published, I would say, in another week or so, just in time for the appointment of the new CEO,” he said.
