The Jamaica Basketball Association (JABA) has secured a two-year partnership with Adidas, strengthening efforts to take the national men’s team to a first FIBA World Cup and marking the country’s first apparel sponsorship for national basketball.

Under the agreement, Adidas will serve as official kit supplier and apparel partner for Jamaica’s men’s national team. The company will provide apparel and equipment as the squad competes in the FIBA Men’s Basketball World Cup 2027 Americas qualifiers. For the first time, the Jamaican national basketball kit will also be sold to fans worldwide.

JABA President Paulton Gordon described the signing as well timed. “We can confirm that we signed a two-year sponsorship deal with Adidas,” he said. “This initially covers our men and women senior teams and our under-17 team. It comes at a timely juncture because we are preparing for window three of World Cup qualifying in early July of this year. We are also working alongside Adidas to ensure that we have merchandise for our fans. So, looking forward to a very successful partnership over the next two years.”

The men’s national side, known as the Jam Rockers, sit second in Group B of the FIBA Americas World Cup qualifiers on six points, behind leaders Canada. They posted back-to-back wins over Puerto Rico in December, then lost consecutive home games to the Bahamas and Canada in March.

The Jam Rockers return to action on July 3 and July 6 as they aim to reach the final phase of the FIBA Americas World Cup qualifiers.
