Kingston police appeal for help to identify woman found dead in harbour

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Officers in the Kingston Central Division are appealing to the public for help in naming a woman whose body was recovered from Kingston Harbour close to the Bank of Jamaica on Tuesday, May 5.
Investigators believe she stood about five feet four inches tall, with a medium build and a dark complexion. She is thought to be in her late thirties, with short black hair, and had a tattoo of a heart with wings on her back.
Police reports say that at roughly 8:57 am, someone travelling by boat spotted the body and notified the authorities. When officers arrived, they removed the woman from the water and took her to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The remains were later transferred to the morgue, pending a post-mortem examination.
Anyone who can assist the investigation is asked to contact Kingston Central Police at (876) 922-5076, Crime Stop at 311, the police emergency number 119, or the nearest police station.
