PTD Beats MOESYI in Sudden-Death Finish for 2026 JCSA Domino Crown

The Post and Telecommunications Department (PTD) lifted the 2026 Jamaica Civil Service Association (JCSA) domino title on Friday after turning back the Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth, and Information (MOESYI) in a sudden-death finish.
The final, staged at Jacisera Park on Molynes Road, stayed close throughout. Neither side managed to open up a lead of more than four points, and the contest remained uncertain from the early rounds to the last hand. MOESYI were ahead by one point at the midway stage, but regulation play ended with both teams level on 58.
With the championship still undecided, the organisers moved to a one-table, best-of-three play-off. PTD won the opener, MOESYI pulled the match back in the second game, and the title was settled in a final decider. PTD finished stronger in that last game to secure the crown.
Stephanie McGregor Gayle, co-chair of the JCSA Sports Committee, said the 2026 tournament delivered strong rivalry while still reflecting fellowship across the public service.
“PTD emerged as champions after defeating MOESYI, while the AGD [Accountant General’s Department] secured third place,” McGregor Gayle noted.
She said the competition highlighted high-quality domino play, teamwork, unity and good sportsmanship among civil servants.
In the third-place play-off, the Accountant General’s Department (AGD) defeated the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) 58-52. AGD made a fast start, taking the first seven games and building an early gap that KSAMC could not close.
Davion Davidson, president of the AGD Sports and Social Club, said the team’s performance showed the strength and character of the AGD domino unit.
“The team is not only committed but has the talent to excel further. Congratulations on the relative success of third place and the future will only get greater. Kudos to the team always and commendation goes out to how the team reacted to each adversary faced,” he said.
