2 min readSt. Thomas

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic — The Government of the Dominican Republic, in partnership with national airline Arajet, has dispatched a special humanitarian flight to Venezuela carrying medical aid and emergency supplies for communities affected by the recent earthquake.

The mission was coordinated through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) and led by the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Public Health as part of the Dominican Republic’s emergency response to the disaster.

In addition to transporting healthcare personnel, the flight delivered medical equipment, medicines, and a mobile hospital to strengthen emergency response efforts in the areas hardest hit by the earthquake. Logistics company Caribe Cargo donated all cargo handling and ground support services for the shipment.

The humanitarian initiative reflects a joint effort between the Dominican government and Arajet to provide timely assistance while reinforcing the longstanding ties of solidarity and cooperation between the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.

“At Arajet, our mission is to connect people, and that means being there when communities need us the most. We felt a responsibility to place our operational capabilities at the service of the Venezuelan people during this difficult time. This humanitarian mission brings hope, support and assistance to those impacted by this tragedy,” said José Gregorio Cabrera, Arajet’s Vice President of Communications and Public Relations.

The cargo also included medical supplies and essential goods donated by private organizations, further expanding the relief effort.

Following the delivery of the humanitarian aid, the aircraft returned to the Dominican Republic carrying passengers in an operation coordinated with authorities in both countries.

Arajet reaffirmed its commitment to supporting humanitarian initiatives across Latin America and the Caribbean, emphasizing its role in promoting solidarity, international cooperation, and community well-being during times of crisis.
