Jamaica Wins Two Caribbean Tourism Honours at TravelPulse Canada Awards

Jamaica’s tourism sector has added two major international awards to its record after the island was recognised at the 2026 TravelPulse Canada Readers’ Choice Awards.
The country was selected as Best Destination – Caribbean, while the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) won Best Tourism Board – Caribbean. The awards were presented at a gala on Thursday, May 14, at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, where senior figures from Canada’s travel industry were in attendance.
Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett, quoted in a JTB news release, said the results carried strong meaning for the destination. “Jamaica’s success in these prestigious awards is a powerful validation of our product, our people, and our partners,” Bartlett said.
“To be voted Best Destination and Best Tourism Board by our esteemed travel partners in Canada is an honour that we accept with immense pride. This recognition energises our commitment to delivering unparalleled travel experiences and reinforces the deep-seated connection between Jamaica and our Canadian visitors,” he added.
According to the JTB, the double win strengthens Jamaica’s standing as a leading Caribbean option for Canadian travellers and reflects the confidence of Canada’s travel professionals. The board said the awards also point to Jamaica’s hospitality, tourism product and close working relationship with the Canadian travel trade.
Director of Tourism Donovan White said the recognition was welcomed by the destination. “Jamaica continues to cement its place as the premier Caribbean destination through the warmth and hospitality excellence. We are grateful for the recognition as we commit to maintaining our high service standards,” White said in the release.
Angella Bennett, the JTB’s regional director for Canada, also linked the award to the long relationship between Jamaica and the Canadian market. “This award is a testament to the enduring love affair between Canadian travellers and Jamaica, a relationship nurtured and guided by the country’s brilliant travel professionals,” Bennett said.
“We are thrilled to be recognised and inspired to continue delivering the world-class experiences our partners and their clients expect,” she added.
The JTB also served as the official music sponsor for the awards night. The board said that role showed its continued support for the Canadian travel partners who remain important to Jamaica’s tourism success.
