Drake stakes US$1.5 million on Argentina beating Spain in 2026 World Cup final

1 min read

Canadian rapper Drake is back in the World Cup conversation after putting US$1.5 million on Argentina to beat Spain in the 2026 final. He published an image of the wager online, prompting fresh discussion of the so-called “Drake curse,” a label tied to several of his well-known bets that have reportedly come up short.

He had also supported Argentina in the 2022 championship match, yet that stake failed when the contest stretched past regulation time, even though Argentina later claimed the title on penalties. Should Argentina take the 2026 crown inside normal time, the new bet is said to be worth more than US$5 million in returns.
