Ministry of Health netball team takes third at Jamaica Civil Service 2026 sports meet
The Ministry of Health and Wellness netball team placed third at the Jamaica Civil Service 2026 Sports Competition, closing out a campaign built on hard training and competitive performances at Jess Park.
During competition play at the venue, the health ministry side met a Customs team regarded as experienced and well stocked with seasoned players. Those connected with the MOHW squad said preparation had been intensive and that the unit entered the fixture ready to test itself against strong opposition.
In one of the day’s contests, the team lost by a single goal. The narrow defeat was difficult to accept, but there was still clear pride in how the players fought through to the final whistle. The view within the camp remained that the squad would keep pushing through the remaining stages and could still rise to the top.
Attacking play was a standout feature, with shooters finding their range and midcourt players delivering solid support. In another game on the same day, the side recorded a decisive win. Every member of the roster received court time, and each contribution was rated highly.
Coaching staff also used the outing to place players in different positions, a step taken to ensure the group would be properly prepared for the finals. The overall performance was described as excellent across the board.
The third-place finish reflects a tournament in which the MOHW netball team mixed narrow margins with commanding displays, drawing on depth in shooting, midcourt, and squad rotation as the competition reached its closing phase.
