22-Year-Old Woman Dies in Fatal Rose Hall Crash

St. James

St James, Jamaica: Fatal Rose Hall Crash –  multi-vehicle collision along the Rose Hall main road in St. James today resulted in the death of a 22-year-old woman and left several other people injured.

The victim has been identified by police as Bianca Wallace, who was reportedly among a team of workers carrying out pipe-laying activities at a worksite along the roadway when the crash occurred.

Reports indicate that a heavy-duty tractor, a minibus, and an SUV were involved in the incident. The impact caused extensive damage, trapping several occupants inside the vehicles.

Emergency personnel, including firefighters and police officers, responded to the scene and conducted rescue operations to remove injured persons from the wreckage. The victims were later taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigators are now working to establish what caused the collision.

The fatal crash adds to Jamaica’s growing road safety concerns. Figures from the Island Traffic Authority show that, as of June 1, a total of 111 people had lost their lives in 100 fatal crashes across the island.

Colonel Daniel Pryce, head of the Island Traffic Authority, has continued to encourage road users to exercise greater care and responsibility, noting that reducing fatalities requires a collective commitment to safer behaviour on the nation’s roads.
