Dennis Lalor dies; US court cites Flippa Mafia drug surveillance, teen stabbed in St Andrew

United States court documents say Jamaican entertainer Flippa Mafia was monitored on video while he and three other men sold illegal drugs over a nine-month period. A law enforcement affidavit ties the conduct to a broader criminal complaint in which all four face drug-trafficking-related charges.

A 13-year-old Excelsior High School student remains in a coma at Kingston Public Hospital after being stabbed while trying to intervene in a domestic dispute at Bayshore Park, St Andrew, on Saturday night. Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect.

The St Catherine Municipal Corporation has announced an ethics committee to oversee billboard displays across the parish, following public controversy over a rude boy advertisement criticized as sexually suggestive.

Jamaican businessman Dennis Lalor, founder and chairman of the Insurance Company of the West Indies Group and former president of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica, died Wednesday night.
