Heavy crane works to lift water truck from Portland river after bridge plunge

Crews are using a heavy-duty crane to recover a water truck that went over a bridge at Clear Spring in Portland on Monday evening.

The vehicle had been returning to Port Antonio after supplying water to residents in the Drapers area when it left the bridge near Hope School.

The driver was not injured, but the truck remains partly underwater in the river.

Dozens of residents have gathered at the scene, and police have stopped vehicular traffic while a crane from China Harbour Engineering Company works to lift the truck from the waterway.
