Jamaican-born Elaine Angene Escoe has been added to the FBI’s Most Wanted fraudsters list as United States authorities intensify efforts to locate her in connection with an alleged US$34 million COVID-19 relief fraud scheme.
The 40-year-old, who was living in South Florida, is accused of helping orchestrate a multi-million dollar operation that allegedly defrauded U.S. government pandemic relief programmes.
Authorities say Escoe disappeared in June 2025 and failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing. She is facing multiple charges, including wire fraud and money laundering.
Federal investigators continue to search for the Jamaican-born suspect and are urging anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact law enforcement.
The case forms part of ongoing efforts by U.S. authorities to recover funds and prosecute individuals accused of exploiting COVID-19 relief programmes established during the pandemic.
