The New York Knicks win their first NBA championship titles since 1973 after defeating the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 to complete the series 4-1.

Jalen Brunson delivers another massive performance with 45 points, leading the Knicks to victory and sending fans flooding the streets of New York in celebration.

he saved his best magic for the fourth quarter, when he scored 13 straight Knicks points to turn another double-digit deficit into Knicks glory. The Knicks trailed by 10-plus points all five games of this series. They are the Comeback Kings and finished off this magical season in the most fitting way possible.

Jalen Brunson, who has Jamaican origin, become the finals MVP and heart and soul of this team, carried an otherwise struggling Knicks offense in the clincher with 45 points. He scored 15 in the Knicks’ last, furious fourth-quarter comeback and averaged 32.6 points in the series.

The championship comes after the Knicks pulled off a historic 29-point comeback in Game 4, rallying from a disappointing first half to secure a dramatic 107-106 victory thanks to clutch plays from OG Anunoby and another 30-plus-point performance from Brunson.

The Knickerbockers, residents of the world’s most famous arena and one of the NBA’s original franchises founded in 1946, will now celebrate with a championship parade through Manhattan on Thursday, according to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
