The Spaniard Pep Guardiola served as Manchester City’s Head Coach for ten years after he left Bayern Munich.

During that time, Manchester City won six EPL titles, one Champions League title and three FA Cups. He won a total of twenty trophies in ten years at Manchester City.

It does come as a surprise that Guardiola, one of the best coaches in the modern game, is to call it quits after Manchester City face-off against Aston Villa on Sunday. He still has one year left on his contract.

Guardiola, who is 55 years old, has been hailed as the greatest coach in the EPL, able to build successive winning teams and going on to eclipse neighbours Manchester United.-

On his football philosophy, he once said: “Tactics are so important because everybody has to know what they have to do on the pitch… but if everybody wants to be a jazz musician, it will be chaos.

“ In football, the worst things are excuses. Excuses mean you cannot grow or move forward.

On his coaching career he said: “ The result is an empty thing. The result is I’m happy for the next two days because I get less criticism … But what satisfies me the most in my job is to feel emotions, the way we play.

“When I finish my career as a coach I will disappear. You won’t find me again in your life.”

Of Pep Guardiola, Arsenal and France National Team legend Thierry Henry said: “ He is an incredible coach on a completely different level in terms of tactics.”
