RETI Partners with CCIM Institute to Elevate Jamaica's Commercial Real Estate Standards

Jamaica's property industry is poised for significant change after the Real Estate Training Institute (RETI) entered into a strategic alliance with the internationally respected Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) Institute. Officially unveiled on April 30, the collaboration is expected to lift industry benchmarks, sharpen investment readiness and place the island in a stronger competitive position within the worldwide property market.
Under the RETI–CCIM agreement, local real estate practitioners will now be able to pursue globally accredited courses covering commercial investment analysis, financial modelling, market forecasting, portfolio strategy and risk assessment. These are specialised areas of expertise that have historically been in short supply on the domestic scene.
Delivering remarks at the launch, Minister with responsibility for Land Titling and Settlements, Hon. Robert Montague, characterised the move as transformative for both the sector and the wider Jamaican economy.
"This partnership opens the door to global standards, deeper expertise and greater opportunity. Through the CCIM designation, Jamaican professionals will now access world-class training and internationally benchmarked practices required to compete in today's global real estate market," Minister Montague said.
The CCIM credential is widely recognised as one of the most prestigious qualifications in the field of commercial property and investment analysis. Holders are equipped to assess intricate investment prospects using sophisticated financial and market-based techniques.
For Jamaica, industry players say the alliance carries implications well beyond individual career advancement. They note that the tie-up should help foster a more transparent, data-led property environment that is better placed to draw in larger and more sophisticated capital.
The agreement arrives against a backdrop of mounting interest in commercial developments, mixed-use schemes, logistics hubs, tourism-related ventures and urban renewal projects across the country.
