The deceased has been identified as Finardo Whitelocke of Logwood district in Whithorn, Westmoreland. Police say that about 11:30 p.m., Whitelocke was travelling in the direction of Savanna-la-Mar with the younger teen riding pillion when the cow entered the roadway near Petersfield Primary School.

The motorcycle hit the animal, throwing both teenagers from the bike. They were taken to the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital, where doctors pronounced Whitelocke dead.
