Bangkok pub fire kills at least 27 as blaze brought under control

A fire that tore through a pub in Bangkok has left at least 27 people dead, with firefighters later bringing the blaze under control.

Emergency crews were summoned shortly after midnight and found customers rushing out through the burning entrance. Video shared on X captured flames pouring from the bar as people fled, some screaming and others stumbling as they escaped.

Images taken inside the venue after the fire show the interior blackened and gutted, with the ceiling peeling away. Several people are still unaccounted for. Reports indicate firefighters had the flames under control within roughly half an hour.
