FitFest 2026 Summer Body Edition inspires people to prioritise health and wellness

The premier fitness lifestyle event, BodybyKurt FitFest, recently transformed the NWC Sports Club in Mona into a high-energy hub of health, music and competition, as scores of fitness enthusiasts, corporate teams and wellness beginners gathered for the highly anticipated FitFest 2026 Summer Body Edition.
The event encouraged participants to prioritise long-term health while raising awareness about the growing prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
The highlight of the day’s action was the gruelling Spartan-style Combat Obstacle Challenge, which, for the first time, featured both corporate and non-corporate team categories. Designed to test cardiovascular endurance, agility and mental toughness, the demanding course pushed competitors to their absolute limits.

In the fiercely contested Corporate category, Proven Wealth relied on strategy and teamwork to pull ahead of the competition, ultimately securing the coveted championship trophy and corporate bragging rights.
“It was like a dream come true for Team Proven,” said Shaun Gooden, Captain. We have been participating in FitFest competitions for some time and to see our hard work paying off and finally taking home the championship trophy was well worth every effort.”

Meanwhile, the Non-Corporate category delivered another thrilling display of athleticism as defending champions Velocity Eagles cemented their status as one of the competition’s dominant fitness teams.
“Winning once is luck, but winning twice in a row is consistency and we knew it would not be easy for us to retain the title, but through discipline, hard work, and sacrifice, we came out on top!” an elated Obrian Bromfield, team captain of the Velocity Eagles shared.

Beyond the obstacle course, the main stage featured an explosive lineup of high-energy fitness sessions. Participants found their rhythm during the crowd-favourite Latin Fitness segment, which blended high-intensity dance choreography with infectious tropical beats. Attendees were then challenged during an ultra-high-intensity Tabata workout, pushing through timed blocks of maximum-effort intervals.
“I particularly enjoyed the Tabata routine which allowed me to burn some fat,” said Amanda Campbell, who has participated in several FitFest stagings. “I had a great experience and the booths and various activities offered something for the whole family.”

Sponsor engagement reached an all-time high this year, with brands raising the bar for interactive fitness experiences. Taking home the prestigious Best Dressed Sponsor Tent Award, the National Bakery team redefined the festival experience with an immersive activation that combined education with participant interaction.
“FitFest has transcended being just a weekend workout; it is a national movement,” said Kurt Dunn, CEO and founder of BodybyKurt Fitness. “Seeing the relentless grit from teams like Proven Wealth and Velocity Eagles, combined with the pure joy in our Latin and Tabata segments, proves that corporate Jamaica and the wider public are embracing fitness as a lifestyle, not a passing trend.

“Fit Fest has truly evolved into a multi-generational celebration of health and wellness. We are so grateful to our sponsors, athletes, and patrons who made this Summer Body Edition a successful staging.”
The next FitFest event is scheduled for January 2028, with the New Year Edition.
