Five Men Facing Charges Following Trelawny Multi-Million Dollar Crime Investigation

Police in the Trelawny Policing Division have charged five men in connection with an alleged Trelawny criminal organisation believed to be behind a string of coordinated crimes across the parish.

The accused are 47-year-old Kardell Williams of Mammee Bay in St Ann; 39-year-old shopkeeper Decarclova Lewis of Windsor Road, St Ann’s Bay, St Ann; 46-year-old Franlyn Crosse of Henlon, Norwood in St James; 33-year-old Omar Anthony Collman of Coral Gardens, Montego Bay, St James; and 40-year-old Randy Murray of Farm Pen, Westmoreland.

Investigators reported that the men were allegedly involved in a criminal network linked to several incidents that occurred between Friday, December 5, and Saturday, April 11. Detectives say the coordinated attacks targeted a number of businesses and establishments throughout Trelawny.

According to the police, the operations resulted in the theft of cash and goods estimated at more than JMD $20 million.

Law enforcement officers intercepted the men during a targeted police operation on Saturday, April 11. During the operation, authorities reportedly recovered goods along with cash in Jamaican, United States, Canadian, and Pound Sterling currencies.

The accused were subsequently taken into custody and later charged following question-and-answer sessions conducted by investigators assigned to the Trelawny criminal organisation probe.

Police said arrangements are now being made to finalize the men’s court appearance date.
