Beenie Man Denies Assault Allegations and Signals Legal Action

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Dancehall entertainer Beenie Man, born Moses Davis, has denied recent claims that he assaulted a fellow artiste, calling the accusations untrue and damaging to his reputation. In a statement issued Tuesday, Davis said lawyers are now representing him and that he is gathering material intended to disprove the allegations. The statement demanded that anyone sharing the claims remove “all posts, videos, stories, and other publications asserting or repeating these claims” and issue “a full public retraction and apology.” It also warned that failure to act quickly could lead to court action for defamation, damages, injunctive relief and any other remedy available under the law.
