An inside look into the Rise of a new Reggae Sumfest era
With DownSound Entertainment celebrating 10 years at the helm of Reggae Sumfest ahead of this year’s staging, dubbed “A Taste of Reggae Sumfest,” Kaboom Magazine has collaborated with the iconic festival for an exclusive digital magazine edition spotlighting the evolution of one of Jamaica’s biggest nights for dancehall and reggae.
This year’s staging, headlined by dancehall heavyweights and former rivals Vybz Kartel and Mavado, will see the two stars share the stage once again under the banner of Gaza vs. Gully on July 18, 2026, at Plantation Cove.
The two iconic rivals famously dominated dancehall’s Gully and Gaza era, delivering countless hit songs while fueling one of the genre’s most historic rivalries, making this staging one of the most anticipated moments in Jamaican entertainment this year.
Dancehall artistes Ayetian and Jamal, alongside reggae veteran Queen Ifrica, are also set to grace the stage, joined by a lineup of hosts, selectors, and top entertainers.
In the magazine, readers will get a deeper look into the story behind the evolution and rise of a new Reggae Sumfest era through exclusive interviews with Joe Bogdanovich and members of the DownSound Entertainment team, while also exploring the vision behind this year’s highly anticipated staging and much more.
