St. Catherine Court Tightens Bail For Pastor Facing Truck Fraud Allegations

A St. Catherine Parish Court judge on Tuesday raised concerns about the police decision to offer station bail to Sean Green, a 57-year-old minister of religion accused in a fraud matter.
Green was before the court on charges of fraudulent conversion and non-delivery of service. The case centres on an allegation that he took more than US$12,000 to source a truck, but the vehicle was not provided.
Acting Senior Parish Court Judge Janelle Nelson-Gayle asked investigators why Green had been allowed $300,000 bail after reports that he had been difficult to locate before his arrest. The investigating officer said the decision was made for humanitarian reasons because Green is said to be ill.
The judge then placed further requirements on his bail. Those include a stop order and an order for his fingerprints to be taken.
Green remains on bail until June 16. On that date, his attorney is expected to make legal arguments on why the fraudulent conversion charge should be dismissed.
Prosecutors allege that in January 2025, Green accepted US$12,132 from the complainant to buy a 2010 Izuzu motor truck. The truck was reportedly due to be delivered on November 25, 2025, but the complainant did not receive it.
The complainant is said to have tried several times without success to reach Green before making a report to the Spanish Town police. Police later opened an investigation, after which Green was arrested and charged.
