Two Teen Girls Arrested: A 64-year-old man is in serious condition in hospital, and two teenage girls are in police custody following an alleged attempted murder in Morant Bay, St Thomas.
The girls, ages 15 and 14, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and simple larceny. Their identities are being withheld because they are minors.
According to the St Thomas police, the incident occurred at about 3:00 a.m. on July 5, after the complainant allegedly arranged to meet the teenagers for a sexual encounter at a villa in Morant Bay.
Investigators allege that before the meeting, the two girls purchased duct tape, knives, tarpaulin, and other items. The complainant reportedly picked them up the previous night and transported them to the villa.
Police say that after renting a room and while the alleged sexual encounter was taking place, the man was attacked. He reportedly sustained multiple stab wounds to the face, neck, and back, but managed to escape from the room and raise an alarm.
The suspects allegedly fled the scene in the complainant’s motor vehicle.
Police responded and found the injured man bleeding. He was rushed to hospital, where he remains admitted in serious condition.
The two teenage suspects were arrested later that day.
The St Thomas police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
