Garvey Maceo Students Injured In Crash Along Bustamante Highway

Several students of the Garvey Maceo High School are injured after the coaster bus they were travelling in crashed along the Bustamante Highway sometime around 8 o'clock Wednesday morning.
Preliminary reports from eyewitnesses suggest the driver may have run a red light. However, the driver - who spoke with our newsroom off camera - claimed the vehicle suffered brake failure.
CVM News spoke with the school’s administration, which confirmed that none of the students sustained life-threatening injuries.
Parents have since been contacted and are now at the May Pen Hospital, where the students are undergoing X-rays and receiving treatment.
The accident comes just one day after the school celebrated a major victory in the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association Under-16 Rural High School Boys’ Cricket Competition.
