Young man seeks guidance over unusually large penis and failed relationships

3 min read

A 26-year-old reader, who signed his letter as D, says he has been troubled for most of his life by the size of his penis. He explained that people began making remarks about it from he was young, even though no one else in his family had the same issue.

D recalled that, during his childhood, a doctor told his mother the organ was unusually large and that he would eventually have to find a way to live with it. The matter followed him into high school, where girls used several nicknames for him. He said he never had a girlfriend during those school years.

After he entered the working world, D tried to date women, but he said each time sex came up, the women pulled away. According to him, they said his penis was too big for them to handle. He added that several young women cried out when he tried to have intercourse with them, and their reaction made him feel as if they believed he was forcing himself on them.

D said he does not want to spend the rest of his life facing this difficulty. He asked whether anything could be done to make his penis a more typical size, and said he hoped to see both his letter and the response published in THE STAR.

Pastor replied that D appeared to be asking whether surgery could reduce the size of a man's penis. He said he had not heard of such a procedure being done for that purpose. What he did know, he said, was that some men have paid for surgery to enlarge their penis, and that those operations can cost a great deal.

Pastor also noted that men who put on a lot of weight may find that their penis appears smaller, and he encouraged D to research that for himself. However, he said he would not advise D to spend money trying to get surgery to make his penis smaller.

At the same time, Pastor acknowledged that D's situation was serious if every woman he approached was rejecting him because of his size. He said he once counselled a woman who was pleased to say she had slept with a man other women avoided. She told him the experience was enjoyable and that she was comfortable with the man. Pastor said he did not ask how much money the man gave her, but understood that it was a substantial amount.

Pastor also remembered a man from his town who had lived in England and was easily recognised when he returned home because of the size of his penis. One woman who went to bed with him said he paid her beforehand, but once they started, she begged him to stop and offered to return the money. Afterward, people in the community teased her about what happened.

Pastor told D that none of these stories should prevent him from seeking help. He said some women are attracted to men who are well endowed, but in D's case, the burden seems especially difficult.
