Government seeks more experts for JPS licence talks as Jamaica presses CXC on SBA reforms

Friday, July 17, 2026 brought a mixed slate of national, regional and sports developments, led by fresh moves around Jamaica’s electricity licence talks and Caribbean examinations policy.

The government is looking to bring in additional specialists to support negotiations over the Jamaica Public Service licence. Separately, Jamaica is pressing the Caribbean Examinations Council for clearer details on planned reforms to School-Based Assessment arrangements.
