Barbadian all-rounder Justin Greaves has surged up the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings on the back of his showing in the recently drawn second Test against Sri Lanka.
The Caribbean star broke into the batting top 50 and also lifted his places among bowlers and all-rounders. A commanding 180 in the first innings of that second Test pushed him 14 spots to 49th on the Test batting list.
With four wickets across the series, Greaves now sits 69th among bowlers and 17th in the all-rounder rankings. The same run of form brought him both Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards, underlining how central he has become to West Indies.
Other Windies batters also moved higher. Shai Hope rose six places to 51st, Amir Jangoo advanced to 60th, and John Campbell reached 64th — useful momentum as the side prepares for its next Tests.
Sri Lanka seamer Asitha Fernando re-entered the bowling top 20 after figures of five for 130 in the first innings, adding to his standing among the region’s leading pacemen.
Elsewhere in the ICC Men’s ODI rankings, Bangladesh quick Nahid Rana jumped 17 places to a personal best of 12th following a six-wicket spell that decided a match against Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe’s Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani moved to 19th and 33rd respectively.
In T20I batting, England’s Jacob Bethell reached a career-high eighth after an unbeaten 76 versus India, while India skipper Shreyas Iyer leapt to 93rd on the strength of 110 runs across three innings.
On the T20I bowling chart, England all-rounders Sam Curran and Will Jacks both rose, Curran from 72nd to 65th and Jacks from 135th to 92nd.
