Gutty Bling Builds Global Buzz With So Phenomenal Remix

Gutty Bling says his vision for the So Phenomenal remix was clear from the moment Skillibeng first recorded the song. The Jamaican producer said he immediately pictured Vybz Kartel bringing another level of force to a track he already felt had strong potential.
By the time serious discussions about a remix began, Gutty Bling said he already knew the artiste he wanted involved. With Stefflon Don later added to the record, the producer has put together a dancehall combination that many listeners online are already ranking among the year’s standout collaborations.
“The first day Skilli voiced the So Phenomenal song I heard Kartel on it because I know what he brings to the table. He’s the King of Dancehall and Worl’ Boss for a reason,” he told the Jamaica Observer’s Splash. “So when I was on the phone with Skilli talking about the remix, he agreed Kartel would be the best addition. I reached out to Skatta and told him that Skilli wanted a verse from the Worl’ Boss and the rest is history. His verse speaks for itself and he completely ‘destroyed’ it.”
Although Kartel’s involvement delivered the collaboration Gutty Bling had first imagined, he said he still wanted to push the remix further by bringing in a woman’s voice. According to him, the move to approach Stefflon Don came from a desire to make the release as powerful as possible and simply “go hard and done”.
“Kartel, Skillibeng and Stefflon Don on a track? That is next-level dancehall. All three entertainers have crossover appeal and are hugely successful in their solo careers. I just wanted to go hard and done and so, after we got Kartel verse, I reached out to Stefflon Don’s team and they were excited as well to be on the So Phenomenal Remix,” he said.
“I always think beyond Jamaica, and with all three entertainers on this track being big internationally also, I know this song is going to transcend borders.”
The attention around the remix has been driven largely by the names attached to it, with social media discussion already building around the release. Gutty Bling said that while the song’s performance should benefit the artistes featured, he believes it could be especially important for his own development as a producer.
He said the project reflects major progress in his career and expressed hope that the single will answer critics who have doubted him.
“This means a lot for me and signals growth in my musical journey. I have to thank God for this opportunity and thank all three artistes for making it possible, because I’m getting a lot of calls, texts, and great feedback from fans, friends, and my families. It’s a wonderful feeling,” he said. “I just can’t wait to see all the doors that open from this single right here.”
As interest in the remix continues to grow, Gutty Bling said he also intends to build out the project with a So Phenomenal Riddim. He said that release will include a small juggling based on the same production behind the track.
