Partner charged after US citizen Kadian Bradshaw found dead at Hanover rental

HANOVER, Jamaica — Police in Hanover have laid charges against the partner of a United States citizen whose body was found in the parish on Monday.

Aldean Jermaine Blake, 36, said to be originally from Clarendon, has been charged with murder as well as offences under the Immigration Act. Police say Blake, who holds a US passport, entered Jamaica on October 5 last year and should have departed by April 3.

The charges stem from the death of 33-year-old Kadian “Kadi” Bradshaw, who had addresses in Tampa, Florida, and Bulls Bay, Hanover. Investigators say Bradshaw, Blake and a baby believed to be their child were living at a rented premises in the Bulls Bay community when the incident took place.

Police reports indicate that about 2:00 am Monday, Bradshaw and Blake became involved in a dispute at the property, and the woman was wounded during the confrontation.

Residents later grew uneasy after reportedly seeing Blake on the main road heading in the direction of Lucea with the infant before daybreak. The police were contacted and soon stopped Blake with the child.

Investigators say Blake first told them he knew nothing about what had happened, alleging that Bradshaw had left him and gone to Clarendon. When officers were unable to reach her, they directed him to bring them to the place where the couple had been staying.

According to the police, Blake showed reluctance. During a search, officers allegedly recovered a key from him that was linked to the Bulls Bay apartment.

The police then went to the unit and found Bradshaw’s body with injuries that appeared to be stab wounds. Blake was subsequently charged.

Hanover has recorded nine murders since the beginning of the year, up from six over the same period in 2025.
