
Police in St Catherine have opened a probe after a woman's badly decomposed body was found in bushes in the Hartlands district on Tuesday.
According to reports, people passing through the community saw the body about 11:00 a.m. and contacted the police.
When officers got to the area, they found the woman lying on her back. The body, estimated to be about 5 feet 6 inches in length, was in a serious state of decay.
She was wearing black tights and a blouse, and had no footwear on. Investigators processed the location before the body was taken away for formal identification and a post-mortem.
The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch is continuing enquiries.
