A 43-year-old unemployed man is in serious condition after being shot multiple times by a gunman in Naggo Head, Portmore, St Catherine, on Monday night.
According to police reports, the incident occurred at about 9:40 p.m. while the man was sitting at a stall near the traffic light in the community.
Investigators say a grey Toyota Axio motor car drove up, and one of its occupants exited the vehicle armed with a handgun before opening fire, hitting the man several times.
Despite his injuries, the victim managed to run to nearby White Lane, where he collapsed.
He was assisted to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was admitted in serious condition.
Police have not yet established a motive for the shooting.
The Portmore Criminal Investigation Branch is continuing investigations into the incident.
