Big plans for Best Weekend Ever

Best Weekend Ever has turned up the volume for its fifth staging with a dynamic entertainment line-up that celebrates the very best of Caribbean music.

From dancehall royalty and rising stars to one of soca’s biggest hitmakers, the destination festival promises four unforgettable performances across seven signature events from August 6-10 in Ocho Rios, St Ann.

The celebration begins on Jamaica’s Independence Day, August 6, as Rise & Toast, Miami’s best brunch experience, makes its Jamaican return with a performance by Spragga Benz.

Few artistes embody the evolution of dancehall quite like Spragga Benz. Emerging from the legendary sound system era in the early 1990s, he transformed into one of the genre’s defining lyricists, delivering timeless hits while effortlessly balancing hard-core dancehall with conscious storytelling.

He expressed that performing at Rise & Toast on Independence Day is “sharing in an atmosphere of freedom and national unity, and it inspires in me a fire to represent that same spirit while still enjoying the expressions of exuberance of myself and my fans and celebrating life”.

And with over three decades in the business, patrons can expect a slew of back-to-back hits that fit into the theme of ‘Old skool meets new skool’ of this staging of Rise & Toast.

As the sun sets on Independence Day, the energy shifts to Allure, at which dancehall’s new generation takes centre stage with Skippa.

Set against this year’s immersive Safari theme, Allure invites patrons to embrace their wild side in an atmosphere of music and nightlife. Skippa’s infectious catalogue and commanding stage presence have made him one of dancehall’s most exciting young entertainers, bringing the best soundtrack for an audience craving high-energy experiences.

Kraff will also feature during Best Weekend Ever at Plantation Cove.

The celebration continues on August 7 with I Love Soca Cooler Festival, the event that has become synonymous with Carnival spirit and Caribbean flavour.

Headlining the experience is Trinidad and Tobago’s own Voice, whose undeniable anthem
Cyaa Behave Miself became one of the defining records of the 2026 Carnival season. The song’s memorable hook and carefree spirit dominated fetes across the region, making Voice the ideal artiste for Best Weekend Ever’s biggest soca celebration.

Voice cited his enthusiasm to perform during Jamaica’s Independence weekend at Best Weekend Ever by stating, “It is an honour because Jamaica is my second home, and there is no better way to celebrate that than to perform for and spend time with my Jamaican family with a euphoric, high-energy, engaging set; because that is what soca is known for.”

Publicist for Best Weekend Ever Dania Beckford noted that, even though there are no artistes advertised for the western-themed Daybreak and the Pink High Fashion event, Milk and Honey, on August 8, it is known that those events along with Zimi Seh Beach on August 9 always has celebrity cameos that elevate the experience for patrons annually.

Best Weekend Ever climaxes on August 10 with Late Check Out, at which dancehall sensation Kraff will deliver the final soundtrack to an unforgettable “escape to paradise”.

Known for his “out of the box” performances and fearless style, Kraff represents the daring and unapologetic vibe that has made him one of Jamaica’s most talked-about young stars. His appearance promises a fitting finale as patrons squeeze every last moment out of the long weekend before checking out.

From celebrating Jamaica’s Independence with one of dancehall’s greatest icons (Spragga Benz) to embracing the future of the genre through Skippa and Kraff, before crossing the Caribbean for the unmistakable sounds of Voice, Best Weekend Ever 2026 once again delivers a line-up that reflects the diversity, influence, and global appeal of Caribbean music.
