1 min readSt. Andrew

Popular podcaster Jaii Frais and music producer Jahvy Ambassador are scheduled to return to the Gun Court on October 28 for a plea and case management hearing in connection with a shooting at the Big Wall carnival after-party earlier this year.

The two men made their first court appearance on Wednesday, where their bail was extended.

Jaii Frais, whose real name is Jhaedee Richards, is charged with wounding with intent, shooting with intent, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Jahvy Ambassador, born Jahvel Morrison, faces charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, wounding with intent, and using a prohibited weapon to commit a felony.

The charges stem from a shooting at the Big Wall carnival after-party held at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in St Andrew on April 12, during which three people were shot.

Police reported that around 9:30 p.m., a physical altercation broke out among patrons before escalating into an exchange of gunfire between two individuals.

Three people sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigators said Richards, who was among those injured, was treated and later released into police custody, while another injured person remained hospitalised.

Police also confirmed that two firearms were recovered during the investigation, and Morrison was subsequently taken into custody.

Richards is represented by attorneys Isat Buchanan and D’ondre Buchanan, while King’s Counsel Peter Champagnie, along with attorneys Sayeed Bernard and Richard Lynch, represent Morrison.
