Jamaica moves to cut imports of Irish potatoes, onions and animal feed

Minister of Agriculture Floyd Green says the administration is pressing ahead with measures to bring down imports of Irish potatoes, onions, and animal feed.
He was speaking on Thursday at a briefing held after his Sectoral Debate appearance.
Green acknowledged that the country has already made headway in trimming onion imports, but stressed that more work is still required.
Three semi-commercial onion drying facilities are slated to be set up this year.
He also said the ministry is looking into ways to produce more animal feed at home and to identify workable substitutes.
