
Julien Alfred tops Gabby Thomas in Monaco

Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred came out on top in her first 200m clash against Olympic champion Gabby Thomas since the Paris Games, storming to victory at the Monaco Diamond League.
Alfred clocked a World Leading and Saint Lucia national record of 21.51 seconds, making her the third-fastest woman ever in the event. Adaejah Hodge finished second in 21.76 seconds, while Thomas crossed the line third in 21.84 seconds.
At the last Olympics, Thomas claimed the 200m gold medal while Alfred took silver. This time, Alfred turned the tables with a record-setting run in Monaco.
