Juvenile Faces Housebreaking and Larceny Charges Over $83,000 Spalding Home Theft

Authorities have laid housebreaking and larceny charges against a minor linked to the removal of $83,000 from a dwelling in Spalding, Clarendon, on May 12.
According to reports, the homeowner locked up and stepped out on an errand. On coming back, she found the kitchen window broken and the cash gone.
The incident was reported to officers at the Spalding police post, who opened a probe. Investigators from the Technical Services Division examined the scene and recovered latent fingerprints from the window glass.
On Thursday, May 14, the girl's mother is said to have handed back $49,000 to the homeowner after reportedly finding the funds with the juvenile. The mother also told police the teen had confessed to entering the complainant's house and taking the money.
The following day, Friday, the teenager and her mother went to the Spalding Police Station. The youth was formally charged, granted bail, and released into her mother's care while the matter awaits the next steps in court.
