
Man charged with allegedly attacking woman with board and stone during dispute
A 20-year-old Westmoreland man has been charged after a woman was allegedly attacked with a stone and a piece of board during a dispute in Georges Plain.
Charged is Rayon Powell of Jane Marks Road, Georges Plain, Westmoreland.
He faces charges of Assault Occasioning Grievous Bodily Harm and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.
Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar police are that about 11 a.m. on May 10, Powell allegedly assaulted the woman during an argument.
Police say the woman was hit with a stone and a piece of board, leaving her with bruising, swelling and a broken arm.
The matter was later reported to the police and an investigation launched.
Powell reportedly turned himself in to investigators on Saturday before being charged.
A court date is being finalised.
