The dancehall heavyweight unveiled the upcoming project through an Instagram teaser as anticipation builds for his next Def Jam era release

Masicka sets August 14 release for new album Forever Reign

Dancehall star Masicka has announced Forever Reign as the title of his third studio album, officially set for release on August 14.

The announcement was made on Sunday through a short teaser shared on his Instagram account, revealing both the album title and release date.

The upcoming project follows two major full-length releases, his critically acclaimed independent album 438, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart in 2021, and Generation of Kings in 2023, his first project released under Def Jam Recordings. Both projects further cemented his status among dancehall’s elite lyricists. Earlier this year, the deejay hinted that the album was complete, writing, “Album ready my side.”

While the full tracklist has yet to be unveiled, Masicka has already created buzz with tracks like “Slip & Slide” and “Boasty,” though it remains unclear whether either song will make the final cut. Anticipation surrounding the project continues to build as the deejay gears up for a major summer run, including a high-profile appearance at Reggae Land in the UK on July 31.

Kaboom Magazine first reported on Masicka’s upcoming third studio album last year. However, the project was later pushed back to 2026, while the deejay released his Her Name Is Love EP in late 2025 in the meantime.
