Mikey General releases spiritually charged Medhane Alem

Veteran reggae artiste Mikey General has released his new album Medhane Alem, which became available worldwide on May 5, 2026, through Zojak.

The project is released under Mikey General’s own imprint, Qabalah First Music, and is now streaming across all major digital platforms.

The title, which translates to “Saviour of the world”, refers to YESUS KRISTOS and reflects the deeply spiritual direction of the album.

Known for his long-standing commitment to the Rastafarian faith, Mikey General uses the project to deliver messages centred on spirituality, inspiration, consciousness, and Rastafarian livity.

It blends newly recorded material with previously released songs.

Production was primarily handled by Michael Taylor, professionally known as Mikey General, alongside Yared Taylor.

Additional production credits include Solace, produced by Marlon Muzic; Road of Life, produced by Anthony Cruz Smith for Shan Shan Music; Breath of Life, a collaboration featuring Miriam Simone for Dredda Music; and Life, produced by Boris Taffari Silvera for Success Records.

Vocals were recorded across several renowned studios in Jamaica, including Nayakaza Studio, where the majority of the project was completed. Additional recording sessions took place at Champion Studio, Rich Mi Studio, Bobby Digital Studio, and Gibby Studio.

With Medhane Alem, Mikey General continues to uphold his reputation as one of reggae music’s most spiritually grounded voices.
