Mother, Daughter Charged Following Gun and Illegal Cigarette Seizure in Westmoreland

Detective at the Savanna la Mar police station in Westmoreland, have confirmed that criminal charges have now been laid against a mother and her daughter, following a police operation at their home at the Llandilo Housing Scheme, at Farm Pen, on Monday, which resulted in the seizure of a Remington shotgun and a quantity of uncustomed cigarettes.

Facing charges of Possession of uncustomed goods, is 44-year-old Nadaskia Manning, a hairdresser, while her 18-year-old daughter, Natalia Thompson, a student, has been charged with Possession of Prohibited Weapon.

Reports are that, about 5:20am, a team of officers carried out an operation at a two apartment board and concrete dwelling.

During the search, 22 cartons of uncustomed cigarettes were found inside the hall area of the house, and a Remington shotgun found in a drawer in the kitchen.

Following an investigation, the woman and her daughter were charged on Wednesday.
