New Manchester Commanding Officer vows to build on crime-fighting strategies
The new Commanding Officer for the Manchester Police, Deputy Superintendent Odean Dennis says he will be continuing effective strategies implemented by his predecessor while tweaking other measures to maximize effectiveness in tackling crime in the parish.
In recent months Manchester has seen an increase in murders when compared to last year.
Speaking at the Mandeville Police Station yesterday, DSP Dennis said he is hitting the ground running.
He has been in the post for a little over a week after being transferred from the Portland Division.
His predecessor, Superintendent Carey Duncan has been transferred to the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (P-STEB).
DSP Dennis pledged that his leadership will be responsive.
Noting that Manchester was once a peaceful parish the commanding officer said his team will not relent in reclaiming that status.
