Nickera Smickle recognised for leadership, community impact and entrepreneurship

Jamaican entrepreneur, philanthropist and community advocate Nickera Smickle continues to gain recognition for her outstanding contributions to business development, humanitarian service and youth empowerment, earning multiple accolades for her impact both locally and regionally.

Smickle, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of A-List Marketing & Entertainment Group, has built a reputation for combining entrepreneurship with meaningful community engagement. What began as a home-based operation has evolved into a growing business with a physical presence on Half Way Tree Road, reflecting her determination, resilience and commitment to excellence.

Most recently, Smickle was honoured with a Shero Award in recognition of her outstanding humanitarian efforts in response to Hurricane Melissa, where she played a critical role in supporting affected communities through relief and recovery initiatives. The recognition highlights her longstanding commitment to serving vulnerable communities, particularly during times of crisis.

Further cementing her commitment to social impact, Smickle recently established the non profit organisation, Anchor of Love, aimed at advancing her philanthropic mission and expanding support for underserved communities. Through the initiative, she intends to deepen efforts focused on community development, outreach, relief support and programmes that positively impact families and young people.

Adding to her growing list of achievements, Smickle has also been named a recipient of the prestigious 30 Under 30 Emerging Leaders Award by Ignite Caribbean, recognising young leaders making a meaningful impact across the Caribbean region through innovation, leadership and service. As part of this recognition, she will travel to Washington, D.C. to attend the official awards ceremony, joining a distinguished cohort of emerging regional changemakers.

Her contributions extend beyond business and disaster response. Smickle has remained deeply committed to community development through initiatives supporting families and youth, including back to school programmes, Christmas outreach efforts and hurricane relief support in communities such as Tivoli Gardens.

Further reinforcing her commitment to civic leadership and national service, Smickle was recently inducted as a Justice of the Peace (JP), a role that reflects her dedication to integrity, community representation and nation building.
