‘OG’ Charged With Possession Of A Prohibited Weapon And Other Offences
Detectives attached to the St. Catherine South Division have arrested and charged a man with Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition, Discharge of Firearm in Any Place, Unlawful Wounding and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm following an incident in Portmore, St. Catherine, on Saturday, May 23.
Charged is 21-year-old Marquan Barclay, otherwise called ‘OG,’ unemployed, of Old Braeton, Portmore, St. Catherine.
Reports are that at about 4:30 a.m., Barclay and another man acted jointly and became involved in an altercation with another man. During the altercation, Barclay allegedly struck the man in the face, causing swelling and bruising. A firearm was also reportedly used to strike him in the head, causing a wound that bled. The firearm was then allegedly discarded. Both Barclay and his accomplice subsequently made their escape.
Barclay was apprehended on Thursday, May 28, and taken into custody. On Monday, June 1, he was positively identified during an identification parade and was subsequently charged.
His court date is being finalised.
