Quada Released On Bail

Dancehall artist Quada is celebrating his freedom after being released on bail on Friday following a five-month incarceration.

The Hail artist, born Shacquelle Clarke, shared the news with fans on social media shortly after his release, posting, “Back to work, God Is The Greatest!!! #freedomstreet.”

Quada has been embroiled in a high-profile murder case since January 2020, when he was arrested and charged with murder and arson in connection with the April 2019 mob killing of 30-year-old Miguel Williams in Sterling Castle Heights, St. Andrew.

Although the artist was granted bail shortly after his initial arrest, the matter has remained tied up in Jamaica’s court system for years amid repeated delays linked to incomplete prosecution files.

In an earlier development in the case, attorney-at-law Bianca Samuels successfully argued before the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court that prosecutors had failed to establish a prima facie case on the arson charge. The charge was subsequently dismissed, leaving Quada to stand trial solely on the murder charge.

The deejay was taken back into custody in January 2026. He is no longer represented by Samuels.

Known for songs including “Hail,” “Celebration” with Jah Vinci, “Feel Nice” and “More Money More Life,” Quada rose to prominence as a member of Popcaan’s Unruly Camp before launching his own imprint, WellBad Entertainment.

The Bull Bay-born artist has maintained a loyal fan base throughout his legal troubles, with supporters flooding social media with celebratory messages following news of his release.
