Somerton vendor fatally shot at Peoples Arcade in Montego Bay

Detectives in St. James have launched a murder investigation following the fatal shooting of a 32-year-old vendor at the Peoples Arcade in Montego Bay on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Jassett Blake of Somerton district.
According to investigators, Blake was seated inside her motor car with her three children at about 6:30 a.m. when a gunman walked up and opened fire, striking her. The children were not hurt and have since been handed over to relatives.
Lawmen say several lines of inquiry are being pursued, among them the possibility that the killing stemmed from an interpersonal dispute.
