Stephen Marley opens Brand Jamaica compilation with Hills of St Ann single

A Grammy recipient, Stephen Marley, has released Hills of St Ann, with the title dated 8 May 2026 on Ghetto Youths International.

The track stands as the first formal drop from a compilation album he is producing. Songwriting and story feed into one aim: to let the sound carry Jamaica's history, its topography, and how the country registers abroad.

The wider release will include a complete album that salutes Brand Jamaica—national culture, legacy, and the terrain that has moved people across generations.

Set as a guitar-led ballad with pronounced Nyahbinghi drums, Hills of St Ann points toward Nine Mile in St Ann, where reggae luminary Bob Marley was born. The writing keeps a personal tone while the backing draws on long-standing local practice, seeking rounded feeling and a Jamaican ring of truth.
