Wendy Lee highlights Tornado Swim Club’s strong meet showing
Tornado Swim Club head coach Wendy Lee says the club is again producing a strong performance at its annual swim meet, describing the event as one of the standout meets on the local aquatics calendar.
Lee, speaking at the Tornado Swim Club swim meet, said the team was living up to what she called Tornado’s standard of excellence. She said the club was in front at the competition and credited the swimmers and wider team for continuing its winning record.
She also pointed to the club’s range of aquatics offerings, saying Tornado is open to swimmers and athletes at different stages. The club operates a competitive swim team, learn-to-swim classes, a masters programme and an artistic swimming team, while also developing its water polo programme.
Lee said the club’s annual meet depends heavily on outside support. She thanked several sponsors and partners, including Wata, Scotiabank, the Ministry of Health, Veil Up Security, Lucozade, Recycling Partners of Jamaica, Main Event, Rainforest and Pure Country. She also noted CVM’s involvement for a second year.
Scotiabank was identified as the major sponsor. Lee said the support reflected a strong fit between Tornado Swim Club and the organisations backing the event.
